Egbert is a male-programmed robot character who first appeared in JumpStart Adventures 3rd Grade: Mystery Mountain.
Appearance[]
Egbert is a mostly yellow robot with a cylindrical head, long blue arms with yellow hands, and no legs or feet. He has two blue bolts on each side of his head with a pencil tucked behind one of them, and a spring with a large yellow mechanical flower attached to the end coming out of the top of his head. He wears a white sleeveless lab coat with black buttons. He always hovers above the ground.
Personality and characteristics[]
Egbert is a highly intelligent, studious and methodical robot. He is deeply attached to his specimens, often calling them endearing terms such as "lovelies", "darlings", or "babies". He is deeply insulted when Polly insults them or his care of them. At one point, he mentions that he doesn't understand humor, and refers to it as a human concept. He briefly mentions that his role model is the NORAD computer. He was made of recycled tin cans and is proud of it.
Botley calls Egbert the resident "egghead", a term which can refer to someone who is studious to the point of being antisocial. The JumpStart 3rd Grade digital manual refers to Egbert as a "neat freak".
