This is a list of pre-release and unused content from JumpStart 1st Grade (1995).
Early/Unused Title Screen[]
An early version of the title screen/logo appears in the game's files.
JumpStart Previews Title Screen[]
The game trailer that appears in JumpStart Previews depicts the opening title screen of the school without the red back arrow in the corner of the screen.
Scrapped Recycling Area[]
One unused graphic depicts a room for recycling, where an activity may have taken place. This room isn't seen or referenced at all in the final game.
Unused Closeup Graphics[]
There are a ton of unused graphics that provide closeups of certain areas of the school. Some of these seem to have been intended to be transitional images that would give the impression of moving towards a location by zooming in on it in a couple of successive shots. In the final game, whenever the player goes to a different area, the game simply uses fade-in/fade-out transitions instead.
Two other graphics are closeups of objects that are seen in the classroom. In the final release, both of these objects can be clicked on to see animations, but they can't be interacted with beyond that, and are never seen close up.
Unused Animation Frames[]
There are multiple images that show the doors in the hallway opening. However, these aren't used at all in the final game. Instead, a fade-in/fade-out transition is used when a door is clicked on.
Unused Reading is Fun-damental Graphics[]
A set of graphics for the Reading is Fun-damental activity depict different layouts for the story icons in the books' table of contents pages. In the final release, each book's table of contents has an even number of story icons on each of the two pages. However, this set of graphics instead places as many icons as will fit on the left page first (up to five) and places the remaining icons on the right page.
