Laser Letters is an activity in JumpStart Adventures 4th Grade: Sapphire Falls. It is designed to teach spelling skills at a fourth grade level.
Description[]
In order to collect gem pieces, Sally and TJ must cut away at a crystal wall using a laser. A word will be spoken aloud, and then the player must cut out the word in the wall that shows the correct spelling of the spoken word, by drawing a line around it with the laser. The laser can be moved using the arrow keys. Balls of electricity will move around the crystal wall, and act as obstacles to be avoided. Ten words must be collected to complete the activity. Then the player will earn ten gem pieces that form one large gem.

Gameplay Instructions
Parts of gems are trapped within a crystal wall. Help Sally and TJ free them by using a laser to cut them out. Listen to the spoken word. If you want to hear the word again, press the space bar. Use the keyboard arrow keys to cut laser lines around the correct spelling of that word. Each time you cut out a correctly spelled word, you'll get a piece of gem. When you have ten pieces, they will fit together and make one large gem that will fit in the wall. Be careful to avoid the electricity ball. If it hits your line before you've drawn a box, you'll lose the line.
